Frequently Asked Questions
What is Mayor’s Cup?
Part cross-country meet. Part party. Overall, a celebration of the Philly running community. After (and during) the races teams will have sections set up in the Athletes’ Village to eat, drink, and be merry. Everyone is encouraged to hang out with their team but also to explore the tents and see old and new friends from other members of the running community.
Which race should I run?
It’s totally up to you! The courses are all challenging but fun. As a team, we stand to earn the most points if we have at least one runner for each event in each gender division, so take a look at our spreadsheet if you want to help fill in those gaps. If you need help deciding, our captains are happy to give advice!
You can change your race registration if you need t,o but if you are deciding between multiple events and want to register before prices increase you should register for the shorter/cheaper race as the organizers are able to charge the difference to move up but may not be able to refund the difference of moving down.
Who’s leading our team?
Nick and Dan are our team captains for 2025. You can reach out to them with questions about the event.
What are the courses like?
You can find the maps and descriptions of all the courses here. There will also be preview runs of some of the courses scheduled for this summer, so look out for those.
How does scoring work?
It’s a little complicated. You can read the full details on scoring here, but basically, the more people we have run and the more split between the most race divisions, the more points we can earn. Just run your best and have fun.
What if I have more questions?
