About us
Queer Run was founded in Philadelphia in 2022 as a weekly group run to create inclusive spaces within the running community. Today, we exist as a run club and 501(c)(3) nonprofit that is dedicated to empowering LGBTQIA+ runners to show up authentically, connect in community, and thrive in the sport of running.

Our mission
Queer Run empowers LGBTQIA+ runners to show up authentically, connect in community, and thrive in the sport of running — from pavement, to trail, to starting lines.
Our vision
A world where queer and trans runners feel safe, welcomed, and celebrated, and where the running community reflects the full diversity of those who move within it.

Our values
Authenticity in motion
We honor queer and trans visibility and self-expression. We champion access, representation, and belonging for queer, nonbinary, and trans runners at every level.
Free to be you
We create spaces where queer and trans runners feel respected, affirmed, and free to show up fully as themselves—supported by peers and allies committed to care and inclusion.
Growing through movement, together
We welcome every runner, no matter their background or experience. We believe running is a joyful, personal journey toward resilience and confidence, and we grow stronger when we do it together. We start as one, support each other along the way, and celebrate every win without comparison.
Looking out for one another
We prioritize collective safety and well-being through mindful pacing, weather-aware choices, and a shared commitment to putting community care first.
Inclusive community engagement
We show up for the broader running and LGBTQIA+ communities, advocating for access, equity, and representation. We push for a running world where inclusion is the norm and diverse voices are uplifted and celebrated.
Who we are
Queer Run is led by a team of LGBTQIA+ runners and community organizers committed to building safer and more inclusive running spaces in Philadelphia and beyond
Support our work
Queer Run is actively seeking support to reduce financial barriers and help queer and trans runners with financial need participate fully in races and running programs
